Meet Marcia Strickland , a steady and reliable force behind the scenes at Scribner.

Marcia brings the kind of operational precision and follow-through that keeps research moving and customers supported. With a sharp eye for detail and a calm, solutions-oriented approach, she helps turn complex logistics into seamless execution. Simply put: when things run smoothly, there’s a good chance Marcia had something to do with it.

What does your role as Service & Sales Coordinator involve day to day, and what part of it do you enjoy the most?

Marcia: I feel like I get to do a little bit of everything, which I love! I answer customer emails, provide service support, consult with our technical team on customer cases, build relationships with customers, prepare product quotes, and coordinate with the production team on the status of orders.

The part I love most is helping others. From answering a quick question to finding a solution for our customers, helping others is what makes me tick.

Scribner’s mission emphasizes empowering electrochemical research. How do you see your work contributing to that mission?

Marcia: My responsibility is to bridge the gap between needing a product or an answer and receiving that product or solution. I help put all the pieces together to create the full picture for our customers and empower them to reach their research goals as efficiently as possible.

Can you share a memorable moment or project at Scribner that made an impact on you professionally?

Marcia: I helped organize the development of our mobile test and calibration unit. It was the first big project I was involved in from start to finish. I learned so much by coordinating the project and connecting with each department to better understand how their roles function at Scribner. It broadened my knowledge not only of leading a project, but also of our team members and all they do.

What’s one piece of advice you often give customers to get the most out of their Scribner systems?

Marcia: My best advice is to tackle one thing at a time—whether it’s finding the equipment that best fits your needs, navigating the purchasing process, or solving an equipment issue. Start with the simplest form and work step by step. Our systems offer many capabilities to support the wide range of needs in electrochemical research, so it’s important to take it one step at a time—and always ask for help when you need it.

Who or what has been a major influence in your career or personal development, and why?

Marcia: My dad has been a major influence on my career. Ever since I was little, he’s been a hardworking leader and a loving father. He never lectured me about work ethic or leadership—he taught me by example. I’ve watched him lead, listen with patience, and strive to be the best version of himself in every aspect of his life. He worked in manufacturing for most of my childhood, and I truly believe that’s where my love for this line of work began. It’s in my blood!
