Scribner Unveils Next Generation 857 Electrochemical Flowbench to Meet Escalating Demands in Critical Minerals Recovery, Alkaline Electrolysis, Electrochemical Separations, Electrodialysis and Redox Flow Batteries

2–3 minutes

Southern Pines, NC – Scribner is proud to announce the introduction of the new 857 Electrochemical Flowbench, a fully integrated, chemistry‑agnostic flow cell test platform engineered for the most demanding electrochemical research environments. Whether you’re working in academic labs, startup innovation teams, or industrial R&D programs, the 857 Flowbench offers next‑level precision, scalability and usability.

BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN CONCEPT & SCALE

Just as Scribner’s recent 50 cm² cell fixture addressed the need for scale‑up reliability in lab‑to‑pilot work, the 857 Flowbench is designed to support the full breadth of electrochemical applications: from aqueous and non‑aqueous systems, alkaline electrolysis, redox flow batteries, separations and critical‑mineral recovery, to wastewater‑recovery research. With integrated high‑current potentiostatic control, embedded EIS/HFR diagnostics, state‑of‑charge sensing and precise electrolyte flow & temperature control, the 857 Flowbench shifts the focus away from instrumentation and back onto the science.

KEY FEATURES FOR THE ELECTROCHEMIST’S LABORATORY

  • Advanced diagnostics: Seamlessly automated switching between an integrated 20 A potentiostat and a 100 A power supply ensures measurement fidelity from delicate half‑cell behavior to full‑system testing. EIS and HFR remain consistent across the full range.
  • Comprehensive data acquisition: External analog sensor integration plus temperature, flow‑rate, and state‑of‑charge inputs all sync into the FlowCell™ software platform.
  • Enhanced balance‑of‑plant: Real‑time feedback control of temperature and flow maintains ±1 °C precision at the cell inlet, while the inert plumbing system ensures compatibility with highly corrosive acids and bases (e.g., up to ~10 M NaOH/KOH) and back‑pressure rated to 1.5 bar.
  • User‑centric software integration: With the FlowCell‑ETS® suite, users can define complex test routines, monitor live performance and interface directly with ZView® impedance modelling tools.

FORGING A NEW FUTURE FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL RESEARCHERS

In today’s electrochemistry landscape—where redox flow systems are scaling up, separations processes are seeking ever finer diagnostics, and mineral‑recovery platforms are transitioning from lab bench to pilot rigs—having test instrumentation that doesn’t become the bottleneck is critical. The 857 Flowbench exemplifies Scribner’s commitment to provide instrumentation that grows with your research needs rather than forces you to compromise.

“From half‑cell screening to full‑system testing, the 857 empowers researchers to tackle emerging challenges like critical mineral recovery without getting bogged down by hardware limitations,” said Jarrett Mansergh, Electrochemist at Scribner. “At Scribner, we’re committed to supporting the full spectrum of evolving electrochemical sciences, ensuring researchers can focus on innovation across every frontier.”
